We Serve
Our Club:
The LaVale Lions Club was Chartered on November 8, 1955, and celebrated its first Charter Night on December 10, the same year.  In its history, the club has worked diligently to serve the youth, the elderly, and those less fortunate in the LaVale area of Allegany County.

We have provided street signs for LaVale. We have built parks and athletic facilities and donated them to the community. We loan convalescent equipment to all who need. We provide for eye examinations and eyeglasses. We conduct vision screening for children, primarily through Pre-K, Head Start, and Child Care Centers, and at health fairs.

We provide for hearing examinations and affordable hearing aids. We collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids for recycling in Appalachia and third world countries. We sponsor scholarships at Frostburg State University and Allegany College of Maryland.

Our Lions give thousands of volunteer hours of labor in service to our neighbors and communities.  If you live or work in the LaVale area and want to serve your community with a great organization, consider becoming a Lion.

The Lions Mission Statement:

To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.
