LAST MEETING, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2010

There were 53 Lions and two guests present. Our guest speaker was Roberta Millar, retired Allegany County educator, speaking on the Summer Lunch Box Program, started by the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, to serve needy children in South Cumberland. The program, now 10 years old, served over 436 kids daily last summer, serving over 16,000 lunches. The LaVale Lions Club has supported this program in the past, and the Lunch Box group is looking for volunteers for 2010.

Lion Marvin Broadwater was presented with a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Lion marvin was almost speechless when the award was announced. Congratulations!

We took in a new member, Kathleen Miller. Welcome aboard!

LaVale Lions Scholarship recipients, Mr. David Jones, representing ACM.

A meeting after the above will be held for all of those who want info on 22W Convention in May, 2010 at Dover, Delaware.
